July 20th, 1864 Battle of Peachtree Creek   Confederate General John Bell Hood unsuccessfully attacked William T. Sherman at Peachtree Creek. Hoods unsuccessful attack cost him 20,000 of his force of 25%. The union only had 1,800 causalities.
